I feel like trading corn futures today!
The bike ride yesterday was a drencher so we ended the day early and drove to our hotel room in Iowa City. That meant we had to jump in the cars and drive back to where we ended to start this mornings ride. I decided that rather than trading in the hotel, I would take the computer and trade in the van on the way to our starting point – saving a little bit of time. I was in the middle of a trade when we arrived so I found a make shift trading desk – out of an old fence post! Isn’t this great?
My eye is still in bad shape … The infection has spread up into my forehead and nose. I went to a doctor and got some medicine and he advised me to lay off the bike for a couple of days. I am not sure how I am suppose to do that since we are on a pretty tight schedule in order to make it to Boston in time for the Summit. I gave the bike a try against the doctors suggestion, but, after a splitting headache, I decided he was probably right and called in the support van. Sometime it’s better to give up a little in the short run instead of risking a catastrophe that will ruin the long term goal. I find myself doing that all the time in my trades. Take the little losses now so that I don’t risk getting stopped out for the day!
Having spent the last few days crossing Iowa, I am amazed at how much corn there is in the country! I think I know why corn futures are down almost 50% from last year.
